The Xavier Cherry Bookcase could be called a "functional sculpture." And if you are minimalist, you might simply leave its shelves empty allowing negative space to be on display.  

It features varying-size compartments for storing books or showcasing collectables. The unit is accessible from all sides, and with no designated front or back, it is a versatile piece that can be placed against a wall or used as a room-dividing display case. 

This shelving unit is made of solid cherry with live-edge accents. The four corners are through mortise and tenons with walnut pegs and the entire piece is finished with three coats of clear Osmo top oil.
